"The Santa Fe Scottish Rite Temple" receives the Ralph Emerson Twitchell Award

The Historical Society of New Mexico has awarded The Santa Fe Scottish Rite Temple: Freemasonry, Architecture, and Theatre the 2019 Ralph Emerson Twitchell Award "for an outstanding publication or significant contribution to the creative arts, as related to New Mexico history".

As it was explained to the authors and editors of the book, The Santa Fe Scottish Rite Temple is, "described as 'absolutely amazing,' your book does a wonderful job of presenting the accumulated knowledge of New Mexico's pioneering Masons, as well as the story behind the building's unique architecture and its rich theatrical legacy."

This is a very significant accomplishment and the authors and editors accepted the Twitchell Award during the 2019 New Mexico History Conference and signed copies of The Santa Fe Scottish Rite Temple: Freemasonry, Architecture, and Theatre. The award was presented at the Awards Banquet on Saturday, March 30th, in Albuquerque as part of the 2019 New Mexico History Conference.
