Virtual Gathering of the Valleys (joint assembly of the Las Cruces and Santa Fe Valleys)

The Valleys of Las Cruces and Santa Fe will hold a joint online assembly on our regularly scheduled meeting date and time of Monday, May 25th, 2020 at 7:00pm. This gathering will be held using the Zoom Cloud Meetings app (instructions below) and you can attend in the comfort and safety of your home (do not go to the Temple). This will be an untyled and informal gathering, so no caps should be worn; however, Masonic etiquette and decorum will be strictly followed.

We expect the online assembly to take about 45 minutes, and it will offer us a chance to get together informally to address any news and/or developments, to profit from a brief educational presentation, and to enjoy brotherhood together as best we can under the circumstances. Please plan to attend and to be a part of this historic moment. The assembly is limited to the first 100 participants—yes, we’re really hoping to have that many of us attend!

Here’s how it will work:

You should go to the Google Play Store (play.google.com), search and download the Zoom Cloud Meetings app. There may be a security update, and if that pops up you should install that as well. You can do this on a PC, Android, or Apple device, preferably one with a video camera and microphone.

The link to enter the virtual gathering is: https://us04web.zoom.us/j/9959430645?pwd=TVlEY1EwcXczdis0ZnNwSHNqeEpodz09; this Zoom Cloud Meetings’ ID is: 999 825 2217 and the password is: 330320, if you are prompted to enter login credentials.

Soon after installing the app, you will receive an e-mail containing the link to attend the meeting in Zoom. The Zoom Cloud Meetings app should be installed on the same device that you normally receive e-mail. A few minutes before the scheduled start time, you should click on the e-mail link. This will open Zoom and immediately take you to the meeting. Be patient—you will then see a message informing you that the meeting coordinator needs to approve your participation to let you join in. Once in the meeting, be sure you can hear, see, and be seen, by using the control icons at the bottom of the screen.

It’s that easy! However, in case you have any problem with the Zoom app, you can search Google or YouTube for tutorial videos (there are many), or e-mail Mark Z. Oldknow at mzo358@star418.com before the meeting date and he will get back to you ASAP—maybe even with an answer!
