Scottish Rite Philanthropy in the Orient of New Mexico

These are the means that a Member or a Friend of the Scottish Rite may participate in New Mexico Charitable Causes.

 

The Las Cruces Scottish Rite Foundation

This Foundation is a 501(c)3 Corporation which supports the Dyslexia Learning Center located in the Scottish Rite Temple in Las Cruces. This Learning Center was the first effort on behalf of the Scottish Rite in New Mexico to work on the Dyslexia Learning problem that is effecting 10% of our young people in New Mexico. All the services of our Language Learning Centers are free to those whom we are helping.

 

The New Mexico Scottish Rite Foundation

This Foundation is a 501(c)3 Corporation which supports Dyslexia Learning Centers across the Orient of New Mexico. There is a Learning Center which the Scottish Rite partners with Mesa Lodge 68 in Albuquerque.

At this time there are four other Masonic Lodges, in New Mexico who are in the process of establishing partnerships with the Scottish Rite to open Learning Centers in their Lodges, Aztec Lodge #46 in Aztec, Temple Lodge #6 in Albuquerque, Bethlehem Lodge #56 in Belen, and Edgewood Lodge #82 in Edgeweood. Funding from the New Mexico Scottish Rite Foundation is the catalysts for the work in on Dyslexia Children in our communities.

 

The Santa Fe Scottish Rite Temple Historical Preservation Foundation

This Foundation is a 501(c)3 Corporation which is enabling the Temple in Santa Fe to be refurbished and maintained. This project will allow the Temple not only to serve the need of our fraternity, but make the building an asset to the community of Santa Fe and it needs.

This Foundation was established with the Goal of raising $500,000.00 to implement some immediately needs in our Temple. 1) The addition of an Elevator; 2) Handicapped Facilities, 3) Replacement of the existing furnances, 4) The relapcement of the entire roof.

 

Other Philanthropy Opportunities

Then my Brethren we each have the opportunity when we submit out dues each year to donate for a Brother who is not in a position to pay his dues. The fund is called the " Helping Hand Fund".

At each Scottish Rite gathering we are admonished contribute to the Almoners Fund "That amount that we might spend unnecessarily each day". This fund is established in each Valley to assist those of the Craft who have emergency needs beyond their capacity to handle. Assistance is available from the Almoners Fund by applying to the Almoner in either New Mexico Valley.
