The Almoners Fund

There is an Almoners Fund in each Valley of the Orient of New Mexico, The Valley of  Santa Fe and The Valley of Las Cruces.

This fund is for the purpose of helping a Brother Mason in need, or for an unrelated individual or for Community cause that is deserving of help from the Brethren of the Scottish Rite in New Mexico.  At every meeting of the Scottish Rite whether it be private and public the Brethren of the Rite are admonished “To contribute that amount that they might spend unnecessarily each day” for the relief the needy. 

The Almoners Fund for the Valley of Santa Fe has distributed funds for over a hundred years and in the Valley of Las Cruces this practice has been in place for thirty five years.

These Almoners Funds are the quiet hand and any funding is strictly private between the Almoner and the recipient.  Charity is considered a Masonic Practice and it is our Cornerstone of Virtue.
